Role Purpose

To oversee and take accountability for the delivery of key projects to ensure that MH continues to efficiently and effectively provide leading administrative services, with a high focus on rolling out innovative products and services, to the scheme and its members.


Requirements
  • Minimum Qualifications: Degree required ideally in the areas of Business Administration/Diploma in Project Management or Business Management.
  • PMBOK or Prince 2 qualification
  • Minimum Experience: At least 8 years of project management experience within an Insurance or Health or Investment environment.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Proven track record of driving successful performance outcomes and accomplishing organisational goals.
  • Experience anticipating and responding to the needs of clients.
  • Must have managed large-scale projects (preference with regard to experience in a medical aid / managed care environment).

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to investigate the feasibility of projects that support the achievement of business objectives.
  • Define project scope in collaboration with stakeholders in order to ensure that project deliverables and expectations are clearly articulated and aligned with business objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of business cases and processes.
  • Develop a project plan which identifies and sequences the activities and timelines needed to successfully complete the project.
  • Coordinate the implementation of project systems and processes in line with the required time, cost, and quality standards.
  • Identify and assign resources and stakeholders (ie RACI) required for the execution of the project.
  • Determine the project objectives and measures of success which will be used to evaluate project effectiveness.
  • Create platforms where the project team can be mobilised and energised to ensure close collaboration and innovation.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with stakeholders to achieve optimal cross-process integration.
  • Track and drive the implementation and delivery of the project plan in line with the scope, cost, and time parameters of the project.
  • Identify risks and collaborate with stakeholders to manage the mitigation of risks.
  • Create channels that monitor project progress and deliver reports that accurately reflect the progress of the project.
  • Manage the project closeout and the assessment of project effectiveness in order to make recommendations to improve project impact.
  • Identify and support the implementation of initiatives that address project shortcomings or areas of concern.
  • Project management in line with CMMI standards.
  • Prepare project kick-off meeting minutes and track to closure.
  • Prepare a project management plan (resource management, risk management, stakeholder management, quality management, change, and configuration management, communication management, time management, and issue management).
  • Follow the change management process for requirement changes.
  • Execute project activities and report progress.
  • Create project status report / JIRA status report.
  • Monitor project planning parameters and activities.
  • Manage project risks & issues.
  • Conduct Project Steercom and Milestone Meetings.
  • Update Project Data Repository.
  • Ensure implementation is successfully completed.
  • Ensure that there is compliance and adherence with ProjectsOffice governance guidelines and audit requirements in terms of the project process:
  • Effective project closure and post-implementation support.
  • Complete Project Documentation.
  • Conduct Project Review.
  • Customer satisfaction survey (when applicable).
  • Coordinate post-implementation support (change management team or relevant stakeholder).
